Abstract Iraqi women enjoyed good rights in several areas, but given the exceptional circumstances experienced by Iraq has faced many challenges represented in successive wars and the economic blockade and internal conflicts and the loss of human security, all that make them suffer discrimination in all sectors, and damaged women durable heavy economic burdens, He came to this research describes the challenges and opportunities of women's work in the Iraqi economy and provides case derived from the study of economic empowerment initiatives in all parts of Iraq in order to shed more light on these issues and, finally, to make recommendations on how to improve women's participation in the Iraqi economy.
